KLIO Mount Systems

What is the KLIO Mount System?

The KLIO Mount System is a modular mounting system for the secure, efficient, and visually discreet mounting of objects in museums and exhibitions. It is based on the modular TOP – LINK – BASE principle and can be individually configured for virtually any object requirement—scalable in size, strength, and function.

Which objects is KLIO suitable for?

KLIO offers sophisticated solutions for almost all three-dimensional and flat objects—from small pieces of jewelry to large-scale exhibits. The wide variety of types (claws, shelves, hat mounts, and much more) and scalable diameters from ø3 to ø12 mm cover the vast majority of all museum requirements.

Who is KLIO designed for?

KLIO is aimed at professional users: art handlers, mountmakers, object installers, exhibition designers and producers, museums, and conservation workshops. The system was developed by professionals for professionals—based on decades of experience handling exhibits from internationally renowned institutions.

What does the TOP – LINK – BASE principle mean?

The KLIO system is structured into three main lines: TOP elements attach directly to the object, are individually bent, and clasp the exhibit securely and delicately—similar to a gemstone setting. LINK elements connect TOP and BASE, enabling offsets, tilts, and precise positioning. BASE elements serve as the connection to the showcase, plinth, or wall—the supported object is simply inserted and fixed with an integrated set screw.

Can all elements be combined with one another?

Yes. All TOP, LINK, and BASE elements with an identical rod diameter can be combined without restriction—fitting precisely through insertion and fixation. Available diameters: ø3, ø4, ø5, ø6, ø8, ø10, and ø12 mm.

Are custom fabrications available?

Yes. The modular structure allows custom solutions for special requirements—from custom geometries in the LINK line to completely customized mounting systems. For complex projects, we recommend early coordination at info@klio-store.com.

Are the mounts serviceable?

KLIO object mounts can be configured so that all components can be fully opened and removed individually—a frequent requirement for permanent collection displays. Alternatively, KLIO also provides rigid, permanently connected configurations if required.

Into which substrates can BASE elements be installed?

BASE sockets are screwed into the presentation surface using a metric thread and are suitable for wood, metal, and other structurally sound materials, making them ideal for use in showcases, wall panels, and custom-fabricated object supports.

Which presentation formats are possible?

The mounts are reduced to a visual minimum—the exhibit takes center stage, not its mounting. In accordance with the KLIO principle "As strong as necessary – as delicate as possible", objects can be positioned horizontally, vertically, tilted, or floating with high precision. Using LINK elements such as joints, extensions, or offset rods, virtually any position can be realized.

How cost-effective is using KLIO?

BASE and LINK elements are reusable and can be repurposed for subsequent projects. The clear separation between object preparation and showcase installation enables parallel workflows and reduces installation times. Particularly in large exhibition productions, this results in noticeable time and cost savings.

What is the KLIO Reseller Program?

Element PROtect

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No, you can also purchase Element PROtect in small quantities.

How many boxes do I need?

The required number of boxes depends on the volume of your showcase or transport container, as well as the desired humidity level and the duration of climate stabilization. A general rule of thumb is that 2–4 kg of granules are required per m3 of showcase volume. However, this factor depends heavily on the airtightness of the showcase, temperature, relative humidity, and any potential temperature fluctuations. We would be pleased to advise you individually and assist in calculating the optimal quantity of Element PROtect.

Can bulk quantities also be supplied?

Yes. For orders exceeding 100 kg or 100 boxes, you benefit from our bulk pricing. Please contact us directly (info@element-protect.com) for this purpose.

How long does shipping take?

The product is generally ready for dispatch within 3–4 days after ordering. We strive to ship your order as quickly as possible. For larger orders, however, it may take longer, as the granules are always conditioned to precise specifications.

What is the shelf life of Element PROtect?

Element PROtect has a virtually unlimited shelf life when stored properly. Please ensure that the product is always stored tightly sealed, dry, and at room temperature.

Can Element PROtect be reconditioned?

Yes, the product can be brought back to the desired humidity range at any time. We offer a reconditioning service for this purpose.

Can I receive samples?

Yes, we are happy to provide you with complimentary samples. Please contact us directly.

How is Element PROtect disposed of?

Element PROtect is completely non-toxic and can therefore be disposed of with regular household waste. It should, of course, be ensured that no hazardous substances have been absorbed.

How do I recognize when a replacement is necessary?

When Element PROtect loses its buffering capacity and humidity levels inside the showcase or transport container fluctuate, it should be replaced or reconditioned.
